Tessa Spencer is a native of Charleston who graduated from Bishop England High School and received her B.A. degree in Mass Communications from Baptist College at Charleston in 1990. She served in the US Army Reserves from 1988-1995 and is a veteran of the first Gulf War. Her radio broadcasting career spans 21 years with career stops in Greenville, SC and in Nashville, TN where she also earned a spot as a cheerleader for the NFL’s Tennessee Titans. Tessa moved back home to Charleston in 1999 where she worked as one-half of Z93’s Breakfuss Club until 2011. During that time she and her co-host earned numerous awards and recognitions including a proclamation from Charleston Mayor Joe Riley naming June 21st “Tessa and Jay Day.” Also a voice-over artist, her voice can be heard on local TV and nationally as the television announcer for the syndicated “Gospel Stellar Awards” and ”The Trumpet Awards.” Tessa currently works as a morning news reporter and fill-in anchor for ABC News 4’s “Good Morning Charleston” and “Lowcountry Live.”
